Poll: Smer winner, followed by PS and Hlas

Had a general election taken place in the first half of September, it would have been won by Smer-SD on 18.9 percent of the votes, followed by Progressive Slovakia (PS) on 16.5 percent and Hlas-SD on 14.6 percent, a poll carried out by Focus agency on behalf of television channel Markiza has shown. Other parties that would have made it into parliament include Republika on 8 percent, the Slovak National Party (SNS) on 6.4 percent, and the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) on 6.2 percent and SaS on 5.1 percent. The distribution of seats would have been as follows: Smer - 37; PS - 33; Voice - 29; Republic - 16; SNS - 13; KDH - 12; SaS - 10. The poll was carried out on a sample of 1,001 respondents between September 6 and September 13.
