Slovak police on illegal migrants

The police will take rational and economic measures that make sense in relation to illegal migration. This was emphasised by Police President Štefan Hamran. At Monday's press conference, he also announced that the police had arrested three migrants who posed a security risk. So far, they have not been charged with any crime. If the police were to patrol the entire Slovak-Hungarian border, more than 110,000 police or soldiers would be needed. Hamran pointed out that many countries have spent millions of euros to close their borders and migrants continue to flow across them. Hamran stressed that illegal migrants do not want to stay in Slovakia. They only want a certificate of short-term stay, which is granted automatically under current law.
