Voters from abroad

More than 50 percent of registered voters have voted from abroad so far. The Interior Ministry has so far registered about 40,500 return envelopes from voters abroad. This was announced at a press conference on Thursday by Martin Kralovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, and Eva Chmelova, Director of the Department for Elections of the Ministry of the Interior. Chmelova said most of the ballots came from the Czech Republic (more than 13,000), but the ministry also registered ballots from Peru, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Bahrain. Nearly 73,000 voters have applied to vote by mail from abroad, including about 8,000 who don't have a permanent residence in Slovakia.
