Igric Awards for best film and TV production

The Igric Awards, the annual national prizes of the Slovak Film Union, the Union of Slovak Television Producers and the Literary Fund for audiovisual productions of the past year, were presented in Bratislava on Sunday (24 September). In the 34th year of the awards, director Peter Bebjak won in the feature film category for his film Shadowplay.  Martin Rau received the statuette in the television drama category for his cinematography in the film Jozef Mak. Denis Dobrovoda won for the documentary The Cathedral and Peter Budinsky for the animated film Tvojazem. The Igrica for female actor went to Diana Morova for her portrayal of a mother in the film Jozef Mak, taking into account the character of a woman in the short film Superwoman. The award for male actor in a film or television work went to Tomas Mischura, whom the jury honoured for his portrayal of Zsolti in the film Black on a White Horse.  The award for lifetime contribution to Slovak cinematography went to cinematographer Jozef Simončič.  The jury gave a special mention to producers Barbora Budinska and Peter Badac "for the creation of the co-production animated film Tvojazem under difficult Slovak conditions".
