Members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic received their election certificates on Monday (9 October) in Bratislava. They were handed over by Ladislav Orosz, Chairman of the State Commission for Elections and Control of the Financing of Political Parties. They will become lawmakers only after taking the oath of office required by the Slovak constitution. If they refuse to take the oath or take it with reservations, they will lose their mandate. They take the oath at the constituent meeting of the National Assembly. A total of six political parties and one coalition entered parliament. The Smer-SD party won, while Progressive Slovakia, Hlas-SD, KDH, SaS, SNS and the OĽANO a priatelia coalition also entered parliament.
