Tomorrow is a public holiday, marking the so-called Velvet Revolution. A series of demonstrations started on this day 34 years ago, in 1989, and led to the resignation of the Communist Party’s leadership of Czechoslovakia in less than a week.
President Zuzana Čaputová visits Prague today to speak with Czech President Peter Pavel, and in the evening, to speak with students at Charles University and Slovaks living in the Czech capital.
On Wednesday, the President talked on the phone to Volodymir Zelensky of Ukraine. They discussed Slovakia's support for Ukraine as well as bilateral cooperation. She congratulated Ukraine on the progress made towards the EU.
