More fallout from Prime Minister Fico’s decision to stop talking with four media outlets he considers to be hostile to him.
Nine members of Slovak opposition parties in the European Parliament have written to the European Commission, asking it to check if the prime minister’s letter is in compliance with the EU's values and principles.
The editor of one of the newspapers, Matus Kostolny of Dennik N, said that Fico hasn't been answering their questions for years. But the change is that the prime minister declared it as his official position. It's not just a question of his good or bad mood, it's a premier's decision, he said.
