The Director General of the Slovak Environmental Inspectorate resigned today, Thursday. Ján Jenčo said that Environment minister Tomas Taraba had tried to fire him a month ago but couldn’t, because he had protected whistleblower status. He is now quitting of his own accord because his fight with the minister was paralyzing the work of the Inspectorate. Taraba said Jenco had to resign because he has no security clearance, and for unspecified ‚illegal actions.‘
