Opposition continues challenge

Opposition continues challenge

In aTV debate on Sunday, Member of Parliament Mária Kolíková said that the government accuses the Special Prosecutor Office of 27 violations of human rights, but they specify only three in documents published so far.

On Friday, the opposition parties in parliament challenged the Justice Minister Boris Suska on the so-called fast track procedure, in a meeting of the committee for Constitutional Affairs. But the committee chairman, a member of one of the coalition parties, closed the discussion after the first round of questions.

Opposition parties say they will challenge the procedure before the Constitutional Court. They also say new demonstrations are planned in the towns of Kosice, Nitra and Zilina.
Dozens of famous Slovaks signed a petition to the European Commission, saying that the real motive of the coalition is to try to stop investigations of corruption.
