Protests against the reforms of the criminal justice system were held in five places in the country. In Bratislava, a crowd gathered before the government office. The newspaper Dennik N estimated its size at 10,000 people.
In Kosice, a protest rally was attended by 3,000 people, estimated the Sme newspaper. In Banska Bystrica, 500 people attended; in Nitra, one thousand; and 250 people showed up for a rally in Poprad, said Sme.
The three largest opposition parties also drafted an appeal against the destruction of the rule of law, which has already been signed by more than 30,000 people, they said.
