The Interior Ministry published a few rules for the Presidential election, scheduled for March 23. Only people living in Slovakia can vote, in the town where they are registered; or elsewhere if they obtain a voting card. Voting by mail from abroad is not possible.
Candidates can spend no more than half a million euros on their campaign; they can accept campaign donations only from individuals and legal entities with permanent residence or headquarters in Slovakia and from political parties registered in Slovakia. They cannot accept gifts from the state, the Slovak Land Fund, cities, towns, villages and regions, civic associations, foundations, non-profits and public companies. Campaigning ends 48 hours before the election day.
