The Catholic Church has not expressed an opinion on the new Criminal Code and the SaS party thinks it’s incomprehensible. Catholic bishops regularly comment on issues of the day, yet haven't done so in case of the Penal Code amendment. The Evangelical Church, to which only 5 per cent of Slovaks belong, said last week: "We harbour concerns for fundamentals of the rule of law and principled democratic values that are based on responsibility and not political caprice."
