EU to monitor Slovak proposals for RTVS

The European Commissioner for Values and Transparency, Věra Jourová, gave an interview for Czech and Slovak journalists on Wednesday to emphasize that the Commission is closely following the steps taken by the Slovak government.

"I see danger when the program board, or the management board for television and radio, are under the control of party bodies, the government and the majority in the Parliament. It should not be like that. We want the public media to remain public." she said.
