House Speaker Peter Pellegrini met his German counterpart in Berlin on Thursday. The two parliament chairs agreed on most topics, also that Germany was right to not send Taurus long-range missile systems to Ukraine.
Before the meeting, Pellegrini laid a wreath at the Berlin Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Slovakia deported 58,000 Jews to Auschwitz in 1942 alone, while it was an ally of Nazi Germany. "I am glad that today, even as Speaker of the Parliament, I was able to honour the victims of the Second World War, namely all the more than six million Jews who were killed," he said.
