Approximately one third of Slovak households spend between €51 and €100 on Easter shopping for food and refreshments, according to a survey carried out by 365.bank. Although Easter in Slovakia is associated with observing traditions, 72 percent of women don't feel comfortable with these customs. The survey found that 53 percent of women would prefer to do away with the tradition of whipping and splashing with water, while over a quarter of women only observe it for the sake of their children. For almost half of the women and 37 percent of the men surveyed, Easter is associated with shopping, cleaning the household and related preparations.
According to the survey, only 30 percent of men are involved in these preparations in their household. As many as 60 percent of the men surveyed admitted that they don't help, and if they do, only to a lesser extent than their female partner.
