Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar will attend a meeting of foreign affairs ministers of NATO countries in Brussels on April 3 and 4. Sweden will take part in such a meeting for the first time as a full-fledged ally. "The ministers will deal with preparations for the upcoming NATO summit due to be held in Washington in July, progress in strengthening collective defence and the continuation of aid to Ukraine," said the ministry.
The event will also include a NATO Council-Ukraine meeting with the participation of the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister. He should provide information about the current situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's current needs, as well as about its progress in implementing necessary reforms.
The programme will be concluded by talks with partners from Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. These should be dedicated to strengthening practical cooperation, aid to Ukraine and a debate on the current situation in the Indo-Pacific region.
At the same time, the Allies will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty (April 4, 1949), as well as the 20th anniversary of Slovakia and six other countries joining NATO (March 29, 2004).
