If an election to the European Parliament had been held in the first half of April, most votes would have been garnered by Progressive Slovakia (27.2 percent), followed by Smer-SD (15.2 percent) and Hlas-SD (14.2 percent), according to a poll conducted by AKO agency on behalf of TV JOJ.
Also acquiring enough votes to gain at least a single MEP seat would have been Republic, KDH, SaS and Alliance.
Republic would have ended up fourth on 7.5 percent, KDH 6.7 percent, SaS 6.5 percent and Alliance 5 percent.
Not making it into the European Parliament would have been SNS (4.1 percent), 'Slovakia'-'Za Ludi' (3.2 percent), Democrats (2.7 percent), SRDCE vlastenci a dôchodcovia – Slovenská národná jednota (1.2 percent) and LSNS (1 percent). The remaining parties would have gathered less than a single percent.
PS would have acquired five MEP seats, Smer-SD and Voice-SD three each and one seat would have gone to Republic, KDH, SaS and Alliance each.
The poll was conducted in April 9-16 on a sample of 1,000 respondents.
The European Parliament election in Slovakia is slated for Saturday, June 8.
