Fountain in Košice city centre sings again

The iconic singing fountain on Hlavná Street in Košice has been put back into operation after the largest renovation in its 38-year history. According to Mayor Jaroslav Polacek, it has become the most modern fountain in Europe and the only one with artificial intelligence. Hundreds of people came to see its ceremonial launch on Saturday (27 April) evening.

The fountain now has 260 LED lights. In total, there are 43 pumps and 750 nozzles of different diameters. The central one shoots water up to a height of 24 metres.

The singing fountain also features several new smart technologies. Thanks to them, the city plans to screen performances of the Košice National Theatre or other cultural events directly to the fountain's water mist.

In connection with the launch of the renovated fountain, an exhibition on its historical transformations was also prepared. It can be seen in the adjacent park until the end of September.
