The voice of Slovakia has grown stronger since it joined the EU, and our society has become more prosperous, according to President Zuzana Caputova's post on X on Wednesday. "For twenty years we've been in the European Union - a community of values, freedom, solidarity and security. Our voice has grown in power, and our society has become more prosperous," posted the head of state. As the European Union we've proven that we can become stronger and more successful via mutual cooperation, added Caputova.
The Slovak Republic should be active within the European Union and should contribute to the formation of common European positions. This was stated by Prime Minister Robert Fico at Wednesday's gala dinner in the Bratislava Castle. As he stated, the Slovak Republic wants to be part of the discussions on whether we are able to reconstruct the ambitious plans that are built in the field of the environment. “But perhaps also other goals that we have set," he added. In his words, Slovakia should also be interested in how the EU will deal with extremes in value issues, but also in how it wants to respond to expressions of sovereignty and independence of individual member states.
