The debate on a vote of no confidence in Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova began in Parliament on Friday morning. Opposition parties PS and SaS claim that she is interfering unduly with the freedom of culture with her statements and actions. They also take objection to changes about to be made to the art council and other funds and worry that the public character and independence of these support mechanisms might be destroyed.
