Schools in Slovakia are not sufficiently prepared for crisis situations as they are abroad. Viktor Križo from the Slovak Chamber of Teachers (SKU) told TASR this in connection with the reporting of bomb attacks at schools. In his words, there have been very specific manuals abroad for decades on how to proceed in such situations, but there is nothing like that in Slovakia.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education's website publishes a good standard for crisis intervention, which is the basic document for crisis intervention in schools. "However, we still need manuals for specific situations like this one. Fortunately, the ministry was open to cooperation and already two days after the incident, it accepted as its expert documents that we had developed," he explained.
