The government perceives towns and villages as crucial partners for cooperation, Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Hlas-SD) declared at a session of the Slovak Towns and Villages Association (ZMOS) together with other government representatives on Tuesday.
"I trust that each and every one of you has already registered our interest, willingness and communication style towards local authorities, representatives of towns and villages," noted Sakova. She added that the government wants to reach out to the regions, meet with their inhabitants and seek solutions for their benefit, an effort that is impossible without cooperation from local authorities.
Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Hlas-SD) views the cooperation with local authorities as beneficial for any cabinet. "We'd like to simplify the communication between authorities and citizens, and make services more accessible in the spirit of a motto: online - fast and efficient," he claimed.
Rural Development Minister Richard Rasi (Hlas-SD) promised a fair distribution of finances from integrated land investments and pointed to beneficial changes in an upcoming bill on support for the least developed districts.
Agriculture Minister Richard Takac (Smer-SD) wants to rebuild the Slovak Land Fund (SPF) into a modern, pro-client organisation and announced that an SPF team has been formed to attend primarily to local authorities. In addition, Takac plans to improve the inner workings of the Agricultural Payment Agency with respect to towns and villages.
Labour Minister Erik Tomas (Hlas-SD) called ZMOS an important social partner and thanked ZMOS for its support of a legislative package concerning minimum wage and collective bargaining.
Health Minister Zuzana Dolinkova (Hlas-SD) pointed out that under her leadership, the ministry has started to invite ZMOS to discussions.
Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) broached the court map reform, which he would like to improve on in such a way, so as not to endanger the Recovery Plan financing but streamline the public access to justice.
