The supervising prosecutor dropped charges in the case of the alleged abduction of a Vietnamese national via Slovakia to Vietnam in 2017 due to serious formal and procedural flaws in an investigator's procedure, according to information revealed by Police Corps ex-president Stefan Hamran and confirmed for TASR by Bratislava regional prosecutor's office spokesperson Gabriela Kovacova.
Kovacova said that the prosecutor cancelled the investigator's resolution on April 29, as he found it unlawful and groundless. "At the same time, he ordered the Inspection Service Office to deal with the issue," she explained.
The National Criminal Agency (NAKA) investigator charged eight Vietnamese nationals in the case on March 27.
