Thunderstorms can be expected throughout Slovakia on Monday as well, with the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) issuing a first-degree warning in this connection.
The warning applies to most of Slovakia until 8 p.m. The alerts in Bratislava and Trnava regions will be in place until 7 p.m. SHMU on its website warns that the thunderstorms may be accompanied by heavy downpours with an intensity of 20 to 30 millimetres in 30 minutes, along with hail and gusts of wind reaching speeds of up to 85 kilometres per hour.
SHMU also issued flood alerts for Monday. A first-degree alert applies to several districts of western Slovakia, most of central Slovakia and the districts of Gelnica and Kosice surroundings-Hornad in eastern Slovakia.
