Public broadcaster RTVS employees held a warning strike on Monday (June 10), the first ever in the history of the institution. They started a march in front of the Slovak Radio building and gathered in front of the Culture Ministry in Bratislava's SNP square. The Strike Committee voiced concerns that the draft suggesting the establishment of an Ethical commission, among other proposals, would serve as a tool of censorship in the future. "There are reasonable concerns that the broadcasting of a public institution might be conducted in the interest of the ruling political parties," the Committee pointed out.
The June Parliamentary session begins on Tuesday (June 11) with public broadcaster RTVS as a point on the agenda.
