Peter Pellegrini swore an oath before Constitutional Court chair Ivan Fiačan during a ceremonial parliamentary session held in the Slovak Philharmonic on Saturday, thereby officially assuming the presidential office.
Later on the same day, former president Zuzana Čaputová symbolically handed over the Presidential Palace to the new head of state. Pellegrini then attended a parade of the Honour Guard and delivered his first official speech. More about his speech later in the news.
