The invasive Asian tiger mosquito has created a local population in Bratislava. The mosquito was first observed last year in Ruzinov, and, according to scientists, it appears to have overwintered and settled in the area. Spokeswoman for the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Monika Tinakova stated that scientists from the SAV Biomedical Center are cooperating with the city of Bratislava to verify the alarming new data.
