Slovakia secures LNG from USA via Poland

The Polish energy company Orlen Group is now a partner of the Slovak gas and electricity supplier ZSE Group, which is the second largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Slovakia. Until now, only the state-owned Slovak energy supplier SPP imported LNG by tankers.

In 2025, liquefied natural gas will be transported from the US by tankers and arrive in Lithuania. The gas will then be delivered to Slovakia via Poland. "We will use the northern gas pipeline connection, which further increases energy security and independence from Russian gas and Ukrainian transit," explains Juraj Bayer, chairman of the board and commercial director of ZSE.
