Prosecutor proposes re-trial in case of kidnapped student
A prosecutor proposed a re-trial in the case of a kidnapped student in Bratislava, in light of new findings concerning the assessment of the defendant's sanity, Prosecutor-General Maros Zilinka has informed.

In addition, the prosecutor filed a proposal with the Bratislava City Court I to take the defendant into preventive police custody. The prosecution of the defendant over the aggravated crime of rape and deprivation of personal freedom was stopped in late April due to his insanity at the time he committed the crime.

Police received a report of a missing student in September 2023. The young woman was found unconscious and intoxicated near a hospital in the Bratislava borough of Petrzalka.
