The Slovak Ministry of health is sending 16 ambulances to Ukraine. The ambulance were surplus property of the Emergency Medical Service (ZZS) Bratislava. The Spiš Catholic Charity will deliver them to the country.
"Just a few meters beyond our borders, a war has been raging for almost two years and the government wants to help in this situation," stated Minister of Health Zuzana Dolinková (Hlas-SD), adding that ambulances are ready to provide humanitarian care and contain all original equipment.
"Until recently, these ambulances provided services to Slovak patients. Thanks to the purchase of new vehicles, we were able to declare 16 ambulances as surplus assets of ZZS Bratislava and, in cooperation with the ministry, we found a way so that after the end of service in Slovakia, they can be used for the needs of our war-torn neighbor." concluded the director of the Bratislava State Rescue Services Robert Nádaský.
