The Globsec international conference will be held for the first in Prague. The organisers informed that after 18 years they have reached a limit past which they found it impossible to further develop the event in Slovakia. "We've been seeking a country that not only boasts congress premises of sufficient size, but also enjoys a stable political situation,“ stated the events head Robert Vass for the public Czech TV.
In 2024, Globsec will be attended by more than 2,000 guests from 70 countries, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Finnish President Alexander Stubb among others.
This year's conference will revolve around the war in Ukraine, the conflict in the Middle East as well as hybrid threats. One of the outputs of the event will be the founding of a 'geotech centre', aimed at analysing the impacts of new technologies and AI on national security. The event will be attended by the Microsoft president.
GLOBSEC is a global think-tank based in Bratislava committed to enhancing security, prosperity and sustainability in Europe and throughout the world.
