Slovak students were honoured at the (IOAA) 2024, which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August. They received silver and bronze medals and honourable mentions. They represented Slovakia among 53 countries.
“The competitors had to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in several rounds, focusing on theoretical knowledge of astronomy, observational skills and the ability to quickly process a large amount of data,” informed the organisers. Patrik Prítrský won the silver medal, while Tomáš Kubrický won the bronze medal. In addition, the pair of Mário Tlamka and Marek Baňárek received an honourable mention.
