SHMU: Temperatures in southern Slovak districts might climb to 35 degrees

The heatwave in Slovakia will continue on Monday, with the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) issuing first and second-degree warnings for 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Second-degree heat alerts apply to the districts of Pezinok, Senec (both Bratislava region), Dunajska Streda, Galanta (both Trnava region), Komarno, Sala, Nove Zamky, Levice (all four Nitra region), Krupina and Velky Krtis (both Banska Bystrica region), SHMU has posted on its website, adding that temperatures there might reach 35 degrees Celsius.

First-degree heat alerts are in place for the rest of the districts in Banska Bystrica, Nitra, Trnava and Bratislava regions and most districts of Kosice and Trencin regions. Temperatures in these localities might climb to 33-34 degrees Celsius. No warnings apply to Zilina and Presov regions.
