Opposition party Progressive Slovakia is calling for the dismissal of Health Minister Zuzana Dolinková (Hlas-SD). At Wednesday’s press conference, PS deputy Oskar Dvořák stated that the ministry ”lags behind in the construction of hospitals. We are extremely indebted to the General Health Insurance Company, and we do not see any reforms, for example, in emergency services." With the promise of support from other opposition members, PS has started collecting the signatures required for initiating a recall meeting.
Dvořák criticized the minister again in connection with Trenčín University Hospital. In addition to the situation in cardiology, he also drew attention to publicized information about the modernization of pipelines in the hospital and suspicions about the invoicing of fictitious services.
Dolinková considers the announced submission of a proposal for her dismissal as political theatre that does not solve anything. “There has already been some embarrassing drama with an appeal. In the summer, MP Dvořák spread panic around cardiology in Trenčín and scared patients. With his ridiculous steps, he only confirms that he needs to cover up his own incompetence and failure in optimizing the hospital network, for which he himself was responsible during the previous government," the minister noted.
