Oil-refiner Slovnaft, a member of the MOL petrochemical group, will continue to receive Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline, Miroslava Schneider of Slovnaft told TASR on Tuesday.
Hungarian petrochemical group MOL announced on Monday (September 9) that it has concluded agreements with oil suppliers and pipeline operators aimed at ensuring that oil transit via the Druzhba pipeline through Belarus and Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia will continue. Based on these agreements, MOL will take over the ownership of respective volumes of oil on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border with effect as of September 9.
"The new arrangement provides a sustainable solution for the transportation of oil via the Druzhba pipeline. I consider this a great success, as it allows MOL to continue using the most efficient and reliable oil-processing technology in refineries in Hungary and Slovakia and contributes to the security of supplies in both countries," said MOL group vice-president Gabriel Szabo earlier this week.
