The Technical University in Kosice (TUKE) has been allocated money to build a supercomputer, according to Investment Minister Richard Rasi's (Hlas-SD) proposal approved by the government earlier this week.
The project, falling under the recovery plan, is also linked to the Action Plan for the Digital Transformation of Slovakia.
"The project's goal is the primary procurement and operation of publicly accessible national high-performance computer infrastructure that will serve not only the academic community, but also the public and state administration institutions, as well as private research and development," said the submitter.
The ambition of the investment is to place the 'Green 500' among the top ten energy-efficient supercomputers. The project aims to use supporting green technologies that will contribute towards minimising energy costs. The new supercomputer should be put in operation by the end of the fourth quarter of 2025.
