Rail service has been suspended in several sections in Slovakia due to unfavourable weather on Sunday, while passengers can expect long delays of many trains, state-run ZSSK railway passenger carrier has posted on its website.
"Several restrictions are in place due to the adverse weather and flooded railway tracks in the Czech Republic," ZSSK has announced, adding that many trains only go to border stations, as they have been cancelled on the Czech territory. The cancellations concern the Cadca border station (Zilina region) and the Vrbovce border station (Trencin region). Rail service via other border crossings hasn't been cancelled, but passengers must count on huge delays.
