European Union citizens will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the UK from 2 April 2025. Applicants can apply for the authorisation as of 5 March 2025. The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs announced this on its website.
"The permit will be valid for two years and can be used for multiple trips to the UK. The fee for it will be ten pounds (approximately 12 euros, TASR note)," the ministry explained. It noted that the permit will be linked to a passport. "If the document is changed, the permit will have to be re-issued.
