Prime Minister Robert Fico invited the leaders of the opposition parties Progressive Slovakia (PS), SaS and KDH to a meeting on the consolidation of public finances. KDH and PS accepted the invitation, SaS declined it. The KDH wants to present its own proposals so that the impact of the consolidation on citizens is minimal. PS leader Michal Šimečka criticizes Fico for insufficient preparation and claims that this is an attempt to cover up tax increases. SaS considers the meeting to be alibi-like, as the government has already taken decisions without consulting the opposition.
