Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) held talks with the heads of diplomacy of the G20 group in New York on Wednesday.
Amongst other foreign ministers, Blanár met his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, with whom he spoke primarily about Slovak interests in the field of energy security. He also reiterated the Slovak government's consistent view on the conflict in Ukraine, stressing the violation of international law and the need to find a peaceful solution.
Metod Špaček, a former diplomat and head of President Čaputová's office, also pointed to the meeting and said that this "meeting with warm smiles with an aggressor and a criminal" will define Slovak participation in the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.
