Health Minister Kamil Šaško (Hlas-SD) has yet to propose any compromise solutions to the Medical Trade Union Association (LOZ) regarding consolidation measures in healthcare. After their initial meeting, the association’s president Peter Visolajský stated that while the minister listened to their concerns, he did not present any proposals. Visolajský warned that if no agreement is reached, over 3,200 doctors may resign from overtime work.
Similarly, the Slovak Chamber of Health Rescue Workers reported no specific proposals after their meeting with Minister Šaško, emphasizing the need for discussions with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, Ladislav Kamenický (Smer-SD), who expressed hope for an agreement on healthcare financing by the end of the week. Healthcare workers continue to oppose the proposed consolidation measures and have urged President Peter Pellegrini not to sign them in their current form. Additionally, the Association of Ambulatory Providers (ZAP) requested tax relief measures during their meeting with Minister Šaško, claiming that these changes are crucial for maintaining patient access to healthcare services.
