If Government Proxy for Investigations into COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar (SNS) submits the report in the form in which he's presented it, the ministers from the Hlas-SD party will have a problem voting for it, Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Erik Tomas (Hlas-SD) stated before the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, adding that he wasn't aware of the fact that the report would be an item on Tuesday's agenda.
"We expected something different from Mr. Kotlar’s report than what he communicated. It was supposed to be an investigation into management and purchases during the pandemic. Perhaps, 20,000 people died here unnecessarily and we want to know who is responsible for that," stressed Tomas, adding that Kotlar staying on as proxy depends on whether he comes up with a report that provides information about what Kotlar was supposed to investigate and why he was appointed to the position. "We don't see that in the report yet," concluded the Minister.
The opposition SaS party called on the government to deal with Kotlar's report at Tuesday's meeting and to hold him accountable for its content. It considers the proxy to be a conspiracist and the cabinet should therefore dismiss him from his post as proxy.
Other opposition parties have also called for Kotlar's dismissal, accusing him of spreading disinformation and undermining people's trust in vaccination.
Kotlar has already submitted his report to the government. At last week's press conference, he spoke about several suspicions concerning the ineffectiveness and dangers of vaccines or the artificial origin of COVID-19. He stated that he would recommend to the government, for example, stopping vaccination with mRNA vaccines until their safety and efficacy are proven.
