President Peter Pellegrini criticized the foreigners' police registration system during his visit to Nitra, stating it complicates life for foreign residents and hampers their future. He noted that 15 percent of Nitra's 75,000 population are foreign nationals, including job-seekers and Ukrainian refugees, who are legally in the city.
Pellegrini also pointed out issues with Slovakia's visa policy towards India, affecting Indian management at the Jaguar Land Rover plant. He stressed that with a shortage of skilled labor, Slovakia should not worsen the situation with complicated regulations and a dysfunctional registration system.
