The Slovak Ministry of Tourism and Sports is backing efforts to attract a Michelin star to Slovakia, aiming to elevate the country’s culinary reputation. Minister Dušan Keketi stated, "Our goal is to create conditions for Slovak chefs and restaurants to shine internationally. A Michelin star would be a huge recognition of the quality of Slovak cuisine and a boost for gastronomic tourism."
The Ministry is also supporting the sector through reduced VAT rates for hospitality services, enhancing competitiveness in the region. According to Keketi, a Michelin star would put Slovakia even further on the world map of gastronomy.
