On Tuesday, October 22, Prime Minister Robert Fico, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will meet in Komárno to discuss illegal migration, EU border protection, and regional cooperation. Interior ministers from each country will also participate.
"Cooperation with the Western Balkans, particularly Serbia, is crucial for improving the migration situation in Europe," stated the Slovak government. The leaders will also explore innovative solutions like external "hotspot" centers outside the EU to process asylum requests, similar to current efforts by Italy and Albania.
