Slovakia has potential in the Slovaks who live abroad, and the government and society should realise that, said President Peter Pellegrini in a video address to participants in the 'The Slovak Republic and Slovaks Living Abroad 2024' conference, organised by the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad.
"Today, the common European space and freedom of movement open up the opportunity, especially for young people, to gain experience beyond the borders of Slovakia, or to seek a job with satisfactory financial remuneration there," said the president.
Pellegrini pointed out that many Slovaks leave for abroad. He believes that they should be motivated to return. According to the president, Slovakia values the work of people who have left the country.
