Doctors at Bratislava University Hospital (UNB) have become the first in Slovakia to perform spinal surgery using a robot powered by artificial intelligence, making back surgeries safer, less invasive, and quicker, announced UNB head Alexander Mayer on Thursday. The MazorX robot has assisted in six surgeries so far. UNB doctors are among the first in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary to adopt this technology. Specialists from across Europe will be trained on this system at UNB. The robot allows surgeons to perform less invasive procedures, revision surgeries, and operations to correct spinal deformities.
