President Peter Pellegrini has congratulated Moldovan President Maia Sandu on her re-election. According to him, her victory signifies a commitment to continue Moldova's successful integration into the European Union. "The Slovak Republic is fully prepared to assist you with its experience from the accession process, so that your homeland can successfully navigate these negotiations and culminate in a successful entry into the European Union," stated Pellegrini. Pro-Western President Sandu defeated former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo, who was supported by a pro-Russian party, in Sunday's runoff election.
