A direct train connection between Bratislava and Kyiv will launch on December 15, confirmed Slovak Deputy Prime Minister Peter Kmec following a Slovak-Ukrainian economic cooperation meeting in Košice. He also said that infrastructure, mainly rail and road, is a current priority for bilateral cooperation. Slovakia has also set up a fund to support cross-border projects and requested €143 million in guarantees and grants from the European Commission. Additionally, modernization of the Vyšné Nemecké-Uzhhorod border crossing and plans to strengthen energy infrastructure were discussed. A Slovak-Ukrainian business forum in Košice on November 7 will further explore regional collaboration and new trade opportunities.
