On Thursday, November 7, President Peter Pellegrini travelled to Paris with several other MPs to attend the The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Council meeting, where he is scheduled to speak. The agenda includes presentations and discussions on OECD studies focused on Slovakia in education and artificial intelligence among others. Slovakia, a long-time partner with OECD on open governance, currently chairs the OECD working group on indicators for measuring government openness.
Additionally, Pellegrini aims to promote nuclear energy as essential to meeting Green Deal goals. He wants to speak about Slovakia’s plans to build new nuclear plant blocks and develop a pioneering project on reusing nuclear waste. During his visit to Paris, Pellegrini paid tribute to the Slovak Catholic Mission at La Madeleine, where Slovaks in Paris gather for Slovak-language services led by Monsignor Imrich Tóth. Pellegrini, the first Slovak head of state to visit the mission, praised its role in supporting Slovaks abroad.
